今天早上顺利通过Ph.D qualifying exam，整个过程气氛都比较温和，chair说话也很风趣，呵呵。名正言顺的成为Ph.D Candidate了，终于可以好好休息一下啦！！

 

我的exam committee chair是这个领域的大牛，期间提了很多问题，有些我也从来没有想过，或者说，根本没有意识到这可能是一个问题，幸好基本上也都答上了。最后老师们给了我一些建议，受益良多。You are a very good learner, you can finish a bunch of new stuffs in a short time. But that is not enough for a Ph.D. When was your last time in my office asking questions? We are paid here to answer your questions. Think about the abnormal results in your homework and projects. 99% is your mistake, but 1% is the new discovery. Do sufficient literature survey when you dip into some area and make sure your discovery is not done 2000 years ago. 

 

以前自己都只顾着做project，很多问题都没有仔细想，这很可能错过一些发现issue的机会。要把project和research分清楚，做project的过程中，不仅仅是完成任务，要学会发现问题，多想想为什么。

 

看来，Ph.D之路才刚刚开始……Anyway, 好好放松一下，hoho^_^
